This 8-day tour to Egypt was designed for families, but is perfect for anyone who has limited time to experience the wonders of this ancient land and wants to get the most out of their first trip to Egypt.

Day 1, Sunday - Cairo
You will be met upon your arrival in Cairo and assisted through passport control and customs. Our van will then drive you to your hotel, located near the pyramids.
O/N (Overnight) - Giza

Day 2, Monday - Cairo
This morning you will visit the Giza Plateau with the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Sphinx and Valley Temple of Khafra and the Panoramic Overview.
Options: Inside the Pyramid of Khufu, Camel ride.
After lunch you will be taken to the Necropolis at Saqqara to see the Step Pyramid of Djoser and the Tomb of Kagemni. Your day will end with a visit to the ancient capital of Memphis with its beautiful Colossus of Rameses II

Day 3, Tuesday - Cairo / Luxor
After checking out of the hotel, the morning will be spent at the Egyptian Museum with the Treasures of Tutankhamen.
Option: The Royal Mummy room at the Egyptian Civilization Museum
After lunch you will visit the Citadel and the Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali. This afternoon you will board your train for your overnight journey to Luxor.

Day 4, Wednesday - Luxor
This morning you will arrive in Luxor. After you disembark, the rest of the morning will be spent visiting Karnak, the world's largest temple complex, built over a period of more than 1,500 years. This will be followed by a tour of Luxor Temple.

Day 5, Thursday - Luxor
Today you will cross to the West Bank to visit Egypt's most beautiful tombs in the Valley of the Kings.
Options: Tomb of Tutankhamen, Tomb of Seti I, Tomb of Rameses VI
Afterward you will be driven to Deir el Bahri and the temple of the female pharaoh, Hatshepsut. The day will end with a visit to Medinet Habu (temple of Rameses III, the best preserved of the New Kingdom temples) and a brief stop at the Colossi of Memnon.

Day 6, Friday - Luxor
A free day in Luxor to explore on your own.

Day 6, Fri - Luxor / Aswan OPTION
Drive to Aswan, stopping along the way to visit the Temple of Horus at Edfu and the temple at Kom Ombo. Upon arrival you will see the sights of Aswan as time permits

Day 7, Saturday - Cairo
Fly to Cairo. After checking into your downtown hotel, the rest of the day is free. Return to the Museum, explore the world famous Khan el Khalili Bazaar, or join your guide for an unscheduled site visit.

Day 7, Sat - Aswan/Cairo OPTION
Fly or drive to Abu Simbel to visit the Rock cut temples of Rameses II and his wife Nefertari. After returning to Aswan, fly to Cairo and check into a downtown hotel. The evening is free. Perhaps you'll want to visit the Khan el Khalili Bazaar.

Day 8, Sunday - Luxor / Edfu
Transfer to the airport for your flight home
